Infrastructure & Facilities
The Institute's ideology rests on shaping the future of students who undergo education at the Institute. Students are provided comprehensive facilities for the B.H.M.S Degree course. Apart from imparting medical skills, the training methodology is structured to develop every student's ability in diverse fields – from problem solving and teamwork to communication, professional and interpersonal skills.
Location
Solan, also known as The Mushroom City of India, a beautiful little paradise and Education Hub of Himachal Pradesh is situated at a height of 1350 meters above sea level. Daily train service is available from Delhi and other major north Indian cities upto Kalka (Haryana) and a narrow gauge train from Kalka to Kumarhatti, about 12 kms short of Solan. Bus sevice too is frequently available from all major cities of neighboring states. From Chandigarh, it takes about two hours and from Delhi about seven hours by road to reach Kumarhatti.Weather remains pleasant & cold throughout the year with occasional snowfall in winters.
Premises
The large premises of the Institute provide ample space for spacious classrooms, library, laboratories, administrative block and hospital. The total covered area is approx 40,000 sq. feet. Decent and modest Hostel facility for girl students is also available within the campus.

Library
The Institute has its own comprehensive library with over 3800 books exclusively for its students and faculty. These books serve as a rich source of knowledge and build a positive interest in studies.Library is equipped with multimedia computers with internet facility. Reprographic & printing facility is also available in the library. It has an excellent range of Indian & foreign books, Homoeopathic magazines and reference manuals help to build a firm academic base and also keep students abreast of the latest developments in the medical world. Library membership is mandatory for students and faculty members.
Teaching Methodology
Teaching methodology has been designed to impart knowledge to the students in a systematic and smooth way. A balanced combination of lectures, practical and assignments ensures conceptual inputs assimilation of theoretical background and practical skills and an effective performance in live situations. A panel of visiting faculty of academicians and professionals from formal universities/colleges and private sector is maintained to cater to specialized subjects. Process of learning is made interesting by means of multimedia computers, CD ROMs, OHP, LCD & slide projectors.
Lectures
In-depth coverage of subjects is provided with emphasis on concepts, and understanding of the basics.
Practicals
Students are given structured lab assignment & clinical hands on exposure during practical sessions, to enhance practical & clinical skills.
Personality development
To maximize your learning potential, you will have an academic counselor assigned to you. This 'friend, philosopher and guide' will mentor you constantly throughout your education in the Institution.
Quality assurance
There is a comprehensive system of student feedback, faculty feedback and faculty development programmes including periodic CME sessions to ensure high quality of learning.
Extra curricular activities
Cultural activities, Quiz Competitions, model making, chart making, declamation, debates etc are held periodically to bring out the hidden talents of the students. Students are also motivated to take active participation in various Seminars, National Programs like World Health Day celebration, World Red Cross Day, Pulse Polio campaign, AIDS awareness camps etc. Students also participate actively in various medical camps organised for the patients from time to time.
Educational / Excursional tours
During 1st Prof. Educational tours are arranged from time to time to various Homoeopathic medicine manufacturing units & to nearby hills to familiarize the students with flora of medicinal importance in relation to Homoeopathy. During 2nd Prof. students are taken to Forensic Headquarters, Junga, near Shimla to understand complexities of forensic investigations and toxicological evidences. During 4th prof. visits to Milk paesturization plant, water treatment plant, sewage treatment plant, PHCs, sanatorium etc. are arranged and also tours are organised for excursion purposes.
Sports
” A healthy mind resides in a healthy body " Keeping this proverb in view, various indoor and outdoor sports activities are organized by the college to keep all the young medicos in best state of their health and shape and to inculcate the team spirit in them.
College timings
College hours are 9:00 A.M. to 4:15 P.M. from Monday to saturday. Holiday on every 3rd Saturday. Winter vacations 45 days & Summer/Monsoon break 10 days for students.
